Recently in my job hunt, I reached out to an industry peer to help find a job in her current organization. I told her that I will somehow repay for her kindness when she agreed to help with the search. She said, “You don’t need to repay me!”.
But I need to, and I must. Here’s why, in 3 stories:
Story #1: COVID-19 pandemic days

In the shadow of the pandemic, when the world was grappling with a crisis unlike any other, lived Arjun, my friend of many years. Arjun, a software engineer in Pune, had the rare fortune of a stable job and savings substantial enough to weather the storm.
Across the street lived Ravi, a face familiar from childhood, but not much more than an acquaintance. The pandemic had been unkind to Ravi, snatching away his job and leaving his family in a precarious position.
